Description: The Leukbach is a tributary of the Saar river, and has a length of 15km. The catchment area is 87.9km2. It rises in Eft, passes through Mettlach, Kollesleuken, Trassem and empties at Saarburg (Rheinland-Pfalz). The Leukbach was redirected in the 12th century, and crashes over an 18m high waterfall, the largest urban waterfall in Europe. Thus, for fish and aquatic fauna in the Saar, it's practically inaccessible.
