Description: Glass slide image recorded prior to 1908 by either W.B.Bunnell or Ebert for fire insurance purposes of the southern section of Luna Park, Scranton. This section of the park was largely destroyed by fire in August 1916. Lack of certain landmarks dates the image as pre-1908 is a lack of a wooden tunnel connecting the large Dance Pavilion on the left through the Shoot-the-Chutes timber frame (center) with the Scenic Railway station (not seen on right). Also, the permanent Spring House is not yet built on the far side of the Photography Studio on the right, and the Cigar Store has not been built at the base of the Trip to Rockaway ride on the left. The east entrance of the park was via the Laurel Line "subway" culvert between the Rockaway ride and Dance Pavilion. Turnstiles were used here rather than a ticket booth.
