Description: The United States flag is lowered aboard United States Navy large infantry landing craft (LCI(L)s) at Cold Bay, Territory of Alaska, as they are decommissioned for immediate transfer to the Soviet Navy as a part of Project Hula. Redesignated desantiye suda (DS) ("landing ship") in the Soviet Navy, they took part in Soviet operations against Japanese forces in northern Korea in August-September 1945.
