Description: KOREAN CHERRY TREE These trees uniquely named recognize their origin. Originally planted at this site April 8, 1943 by Sungman Rhee, independence leader and first Korean President and American University President Dr. Paul F. Douglass, as a living symbol to the concern University intellectuals shared for the independence of Korea, oppressed people, and the realization of democracy.
