Image: Knapton House in 1942-44
Description: A strong lean to the left on this image provoked the title on this image of Knapton House to be compared with the (normally) incomparable leaning tower of Pisa! Jonah Barrington is a name that many of us will be familiar with but know little about? Situated outside Abbeyleix in County Laois it looks like a fine solid home that may have survived to the present day. I don't know why but when comparing Knapton with Pisa this song came to mind! www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWgvUG3DoE4 Photographer: Irish Tourism Association Photographer Collection: Irish Tourism Association Photographic Collection Date: 1942 - 1944 NLI Ref: NPA ITA 1311 (Box VI) You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie
