Image: King's African Rifles in Malaya - IWM K 14004
Description: Troops of A Company, 3rd (Kenya) Battalion, King's African Rifles, search an abandoned hut during the Malayan Emergency. Due to the inability of the British colonial authorities in Malaya to recruit enough Malaysians to fight against communist rebels belonging to the Malayan Communist Party (MCP) and the Malayan National Liberation Army (MNLA), soldiers from across the British Empire were deployed to the region, including from Britain's colonies in Africa. Unknown creation/publication date. Original photograph held by the UK Imperial War Museum, Catalogue number K 14004.
