Description: Head of a Male. Granodiorite, 15 cm x 10.5 cm x 13.8 cm overall. Excavated at Kerma between Tumuli K III and K IV. Date 1784–1668 BC. Egypt, Middle Kingdom, Dynasty 12. It was found between two late Kerma royal tombs. It probably came from a sanctuary in southern Egypt; this could have been Elephantine; possibly taken to Kerma following a Nubian campaign in southern Egypt.
