Charcot (1825-1893) used hypnotism to treat hysteria and other abnormal mental conditions and he had a profound influence on many farther neurologists, psychologists and psychotherapists as Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), father of psychoanalysis. - All materials from “Iconographie photographique de la Salpêtrière” (Jean Martin Charcot,1878).
