Description: This is all that remains of a very pretty and historic City Centre street, the rest of Bridge Street having been demolished in the 1960's and replaced by "lego" buildings. The Steeple was part of the Tolbooth (Prison) built at the end of the 18th century, and the remainder of the building you can see was originally the Courthouse built at the start of the 19th century. The story goes that the larger of the two spheres in the spire contains a gallon of whisky.
