Description: Gurdwara Sis Ganj, Old Delhi, India: This is the view of the front of the Darbar Sahib or Prayer Hall showing the Palki housing the Guru Granth Sahib. The area around the palki and the main platform is decorated with fresh flowers. The long window in the platform shows the exact location of the martyrdom of the ninth Sikh Guru. On the right of the photo can be seen 2 devotees paying their respects to the Guru; his noble and unique deed is remembered with reverence by all Sikhs and many others who recognise the higher level of human behaviour. This shrine is built at the exact location where Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru was martyred on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on Wednesday, November 24, 1675 for refusing to convert to Islam.
