Description: Hornby Castle and the River Wenning An imposing crenellated dwelling dating mainly from the 19th century, although the peel tower dates partly from the 13th and 16th centuries. Viewed from the A683 bridge over the River Wenning. In the middle of the weir is a fish ladder, which allows trout and salmon to pass the weir to go upriver to spawn.
