Description: The crossroads at Wahlerscheid on February 13, 1945. The 9th US Infantry Regiment first captured the junction on December 15, but were forced to withdraw to the Elsenborn Ridge during the Battle of the Bulge, where they held. They recaptured the crossroads again in early February 1945. This photo was taken from rear portion of the southwest corner of the crossroads. Photographed by Sgt. Bernard Cook of the 165th Signal Photo Company.
