Description: Hanway Common. Large area of the dip slope of the Ludlow Anticline that is outwith the deer park , its also in Shropshire and has avoided the forestry. Until the late 1960s it was arable and very productive, a practice introduced in wartime. Since then it has been a sheepwalk, and is slowly becoming overgrown with gorse. Not bracken,yet,thank goodness.
