Description: View of Gregories Estate, near Beaconsfield, watercolour, by Ravenhill. Politician Edmund Burke bought the home from the Waller family for £20,000 in 1768, and the costs of maintaining the estate were a burden on Burke. (Edmund Waller had inherited a family home named Hall Barn and moved his family there.) The house was destroyed by fire in 1813. Image courtesy of the British Library, London.[1]
