Description: Part of the Gott Collection at the Hepworth Gallery, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. The collection was originally held by Leeds industrialist William Gott, and sold in 1908 and 1912 after the 1906 death of William Gott's son John, bishop of Truro. Showing a detail from an engraving of the Moot Hall in Briggate, Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. The Moot Hall was built in 1618, rebuilt in 1710 and demolished in 1826. The marble statue of Queen Anne by Andrew Carpenter was installed in 1713. It is now in Leeds City Art Gallery. (Information source: Leodis) The engraving is entitled: "Moot Hall. To Geo. Banks of Leeds Esq. This plate engraved from a drawing in his possession is respectfully inscribed by the publishers. Published by Robinson, Son & Holdsworth Leeds, and J. Hirst, Wakefield, May 2, 1816."
