Description: This gold strip is one of the most significant objects from the Hoard because it is inscribed with a verse from the Bible in Latin -- Rise up, Lord, and may thy enemies be dispersed and those that hate thee be driven from thy face -- (Numbers 10:35). Pieces of inscribed metalwork from this period are very rare. Interestingly the Latin includes some spelling mistakes. We are not sure what this strip comes from.
