Description: Clump of Sierra alpine gentians by a high altitude lake, at the West side of Golden Lake (N of Mono Pass) in the Yosemite National Park area, Sierra Nevada, California, USA. Consulting the Jepson Flora (Berkeley) and CalPhotos, it appears that this should actually be identified as Gentiana newberryi var. tiogana, with common names Sierra alpine gentian or Tioga gentian.
