Description: The ships are guided along the locks with locomotives called the "mules". Big Panamax ships require 6 mules, 4 to handle the bow and 2 to handle the stern. Here you can see the bow-mules hauling in their steel cables as the ship exits the locks to sail into the Caribbean.
