Description: Moscow, 1935, ice cream stand in Teatralny Passage. The building in the rear is present-day Emercom headquarters at Teatralny, 3-2. The Eskimo Pie (Эскимо-пай) genericized trademark was adopted by the Soviets, along with the technology and equipment, in 1932. Large-scale production began in 1935. The product name was soon reduced to just eskimo.
