Description: This grand Federal style house was built 1796-1800 by Dr. John Ernest Poyas, Jr., a physician. The piazzas and piazza screen were added by Moses Cohen Mordecai, who purchased the house in 1837. I assume (without evidence) that the brick wall was also built at that time or later.
