Description: Oak Ridge security badge of Dr. Fred Stone, Sr., on display at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, Tennessee, USA. Oak Ridge's Manhattan Project installations, which helped build the world's first atomic bomb in the 1940s, were known to the public as the "Clinton Engineer Works." Stone examined new employees of the Stone and Webster Construction Company, which built many of the project's facilities. This badge is on display on the second floor of the museum's "Appalachian Hall of Fame" building.
