Description: Frank C Bocek Park in the neighborhood of Madison-Eastend, East Baltimore, a neighborhood that once was home to many Czech/Bohemian immigrants. Locals used to nickname the park "the clay hill" because children would dig little caves into the sides of the hill in the park and play fort. There was a swamp behind the park, earning the surrounding neighborhood the title of "Swampoodle". Amtrak's Northeast Corridor tracks lie to the north of the park, East Madison Street to the south, and Edison Highway to the east. "Bocek" is a Czech surname, but historians don't seem to know who Frank C Bocek was.
