Description: This statue was created by Sir Richard Westmacott and erected in 1809. Francis Duke of Bedford was known for his work on agricultural improvements and he is depicted with his hand resting on a plough - note also the sheep on the plinth. The statue faces one of Charles James Fox by the same arist in Bloomsbury Square at the other end of Bedford Place.
