Image: Font at St Peter Barton-Upon-Humber (35)
Description: Caen stone font by Catherine Mawer at St Peter's Church, Barton-upon-Humber, Lincolnshire. It was created in 1859 to the outline design of architect Cuthbert Brodrick, who directed the restoration of the church in that year. Showing complex band of finely-undercut trilobed leaves, symbolising the Trinity. The font was paired with a Caen stone pedestal for the pulpit by the same sculptor; that pedestal is now missing, but it may be the one in St Mary's nearby.
