Description: A photogram (shadow image on photographic paper) of a leaf, listed for auction sale in 2008 as possibly made by Thomas Wedgwood around the year 1800 and therefore the oldest known surviving photograph of any kind. The suggested attribution to Wedgwood was highly controversial and the photogram was withdrawn shortly before the scheduled sale so that it could be scientifically analyzed. As of March 2015 nothing more has been heard.
