Description: Sorry for the quality of this image! A very secretive range-restricted Sri Lankan endemic which is very difficult to see. This bird skulks in deep cover along well-wooded ravines in the Sri Lankan highlands. The best chance of seeing the bird is at dawn when the males are singing or at dusk when they bathe before roosting. Whilst I got good views of male and female I really struggled to get an image due to the low light levels (our itinerary did not allow a return visit without the family to get a better image!). This image was taken by flash in near darkness along a wooded stream near Nuwara Eliya in the Sri Lankan highlands.
