Description: Father Jean-Marie-Raphael Le Jeune was a missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate who worked among the Indigenous communities of British Columbia. He is notable for having been the inventor of the "Chinuk Pipa" writing based on French Duployan shorthand for Chinook Jargon (aka Chinuk Wawa) and for having published a paper in that system, the "Kamloops Wawa".
