Description: IN 1859 ABRAM LAYDECKER OF NEW JERSEY OPENED A STORE AND RESIDENCE HERE IN VIENNA. DURING THE CIVIL WAR THERE WERE NUMEROUS SKIRMISHES AROUND THE STORE AND IT WAS USED FOR VARIOUS PURPOSES. AFTER THE WAR LAYDECKER’S SON-IN LAW, ANDERSON FREEMAN, RAN THE STORE UNTIL 1929. EVENTUALLY THE TOWN OF VIENNA PURCHASED THE STORE AND OPERATES IT AS A RURAL GENERAL STORE AND MUSEUM
