Description: Scene of the sensational gold escort robbery of June 1862. The old coaching road ran along the foot of this prominence. Composed of huge boulders, Eugowra Rocks provided an excellent hiding place and defensive position for the bushrangers, who were able to fire down on the gold escort as though from the heights of a fortress. The site is now on private property, and can be viewed only from The Escort Way adjacent.
