Description: THE PRE-1980 PICTURE PRESENTLY ON WIKIPEDIA BEARS NO RESEMBLANCE TO THE SITE AS IT APPEARS TODAY. AFTER OPERATIONS CEASED IN 1980 THE WV DEPARTMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENT DEMOLISHED THE SITE BECAUSE OF POLLUTION AND EVEN WIPED OUT THE ENTIRE TOWN OF BRETZ. ALTHOUGH IT IS LISTED AS A NHL IT IS OBVIOUS THEY DO NOT WISH IT TO BE FOUND. THE ROAD TO THE SITE IS UNMARKED AND ONLY THE LOCALS CAN SHOW YOU THE ROAD WHICH APPEARS TO TAKE OFF BETWEEN THE BACK YARDS OF TWO PROPERTIES. THE ROAD IS DIRT, STEEPLY DOWNHILL, POTHOLED, WASHBOARDY, AND HUMPBACKED AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT ONLY TO VERY EXPERIENCED DRIVERS PREFERABLY WITH A 4-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE. THE BEEHIVE OVENS ARE STILL VISIBLE BARELY AND ARE BEING OVERGROWN WITH VEGETATION.
