Image: Drilling at an angle
Description: Drilling at an angle. Normally a metal brace is used to connect two perpendicular boards; sometimes a triangle can be cut, glued in, and screwed or nailed in as well. A quick alternative (but which isn't as strong) is to drill boards at an angle. Start the drill straight up, and begin drilling; then move it a 45 degree angle. Remember to use longer screws since the distance may be greater. Source of picture: here with public domain declaration on the starter article here. Questions?
