Description: The castle had already fallen into decay by this time, and was demolished 1759. Drawing by Thomas Ashworth (died 1757). Illustration preserved by Gabriel Beranger. It was built in the 16th century by the Ussher family on the south side of Donnybrook village by a stream. Sir William Ussher lived there before 1637. The site was bought by the Sisters of Charity in 1837.
