Description: Panorama of Dire Dawa, with the new train station in the background c. 1915. The first train station, built in wood, had been demolished c. 1913-1914. The Franco-Ethiopian Railway Line was Dire Dawa's raison d'être then, and virtually Ethiopias' only link with the outside world. Postcard issued c. 1915.
