Description: Dinosaurs in Their Time is the largest renovation project at Carnegie Museum of Natural History since the museum was founded in 1895. This new exhibit will allow the Museum to properly display one of the largest, most diverse, and scientifically important collections of dinosaurs and other Mesozoic fossils in the world. Dinosaurs in Their Time is more than three times larger than the former Dinosaur Hall – increasing the Mesozoic exhibit space from 5,000 to 18,600 square feet Diplodocus Carnegii dinosaur (seen in the picture) lived 150 million years ago, when dinosaurs dominated the land. Carnegie Museum paleontologists first discovered its remains in Wyoming on July 4, 1899. A new species, the dinosaur was named after Andrew Carnegie, the museum's generous benefactor.
