Henry Ford financed a dance hall that was the second largest in the world. Designed by Detroit architect Albert Khan, and constructed of steel and stone, the east side of the building featured a tall cathedral-like glass wall. Construction was started in 1912 and was completed in time for the opening of the park's 1913 season. The building housed the largest dance floor in North America until the Crystal Ballroom was opened at Crystal Beach.
