The 13.20 Llandudno - Derby Summer Saturday express is coming off the Chester line across the main lines, headed by LMS 'Jubilee' 6P 4-6-0 No. 45700 'Amethyst' piloting Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 45026. Masts are already being erected for the electrification that commenced (to Manchester) 18 months later. Countless train-spotters crowd the end of Platform 4.
