Image: Costa maya from cruise ship
Description: This photograph of Costa Maya, Mexico, was taken from the Carnival Victory cruiseship docked at the end of the resort's pier. The image was taken in January 2006, and shows the entire resort area, including the administration building, several bars, swimming pool, beach, and shops selling ubiquitous souvenirs. The nearby village of Mahahual is off the left of the image. Both the resort and the pier would be destroyed by Category 5 hurricane Dean's passage through the Yucatan in 2007, though they both were rebuilt. Taken by NormanEinstein, January 3, 2006 at Costa Maya, Mexico.
