Description: The 13.8 billion year lifetime of the universe mapped onto a single year. At this scale the Big Bang takes place at the instant of midnight going into January 1, and the current time is the end of December 31 at midnight, and the longest human life is about 1/4th of a second, a blink of an eye.[1] The scale was popularized by Carl Sagan in his book The Dragons of Eden and on the television series Cosmos, which he hosted.
