Description: Signed and dated, lower left: T. Luny 1779. The label reads: "May 13 1779. Sir James Wallace, commander of HMS Experiment, with the Pallas, Unicorn, Fortunae and Cabot Brigs attacking the Danae, Valeur, Recluse, three French frigates, and a cutter in Concale Bay. The Danae he brought off; the other three being aground he burnt, amidst a smart fire from the battery of six twelve-pounders and several cannon from the shore.The battery he silenced in half an hour."
