Description: Coat of arms of the Danish town Ringsted. Based on town seal known since 1275. Traditionally the figures on the seal are interpreted as the hand of God and Mary and the Child. The three praying figures are most likely St. Canute Lavard who was interred in Ringsted, king Eric IV Ploughpenny presenting roses to the Virgin Mary asking to be canonized (which never happened) and St. Benedict of Nursia the founder of the Benedictine order to whom the local church is dedicated.
