Image: Cloning Hard disk drive
Description: I stopped off on my way home tonight to help my brother with some work he's doing at one of our partner Special Schools. They've been having all kinds of trouble with technical support, and so he's stepped in and he's been working on new stuff for them. One of the jobs that needed doing was new configurations of the workstations in the ICT suite. The easiest way to do this is to clone the entire hard drive. There's lots of clever ways to do this through the network, but these machines had really weird NVidia network cards and it was easier and quicker to just rip the hard drives out and copy them locally in a machine. That's what I'm doing in the photo. This is an HP machine that I'm using to copy the drives from the Fujitsu Seimens machines. The whole hard drives were copying over in just over 5 minutes. A boring photo, but then it was a boring job.
