Description: Chinatown Cairns, circa 1890. The Crown Hotel (35 Shields Street) is in the upper right of the photo. The street from left to right in front of the hotel was Sachs Street (now Grafton Street). The street running up to the right of the hotel is Shields Street. To the left of the hotel there is a building with 4 hortizontal gables with a flagpole in front, which is the Lit Sung Goong Temple (now 95 Grafton Street). The photo was taken from the roof of the Hides Hotel (87 Lakes Steet).
