Description: Chester racecourse This view from the side of Nun's Road, shows the city walls and part of the racecourse, towards Grosvenor Road. The area to the left, behind the shuttering, was once a Nunnery and gardens, a Militia Barracks, then Police headquarters. This last building had won awards when it was first built in the '60s, but was never popular with the residents of the city. The next phase of its history is to be a large circular hotel complex around a central open space.
