Description: Calais Deviation by Sarah Robson-Coated Aluminium, Cast Bronze and Patina, 2011 The plaque reads: Calais Deviation encapsulates the dynamic interaction of light with form and the infinite facets of experience. These correlations are exhibited when the sifting nature of light acts upon the static forms and the viewer moves amongst the six elements. The form appear to merge, separate, arch and reach as the viewer participates in this interplay and engages with the artwork. The sculpture creates a moment suspended in time. The viewer actively experiences the fullness inherent in any one moment. It presents the interval, where time appears slowed, the past and future forgotten, only the potential of the present remains.
