Description: Immature Red-backed mannikin (Lonchura nigriceps) picking Lantana flowers, presumably for the nectar. Once considered a subspecies of Black-and-white Mannikin (Lonchura bicolor, syn. Spermestes bicolor), but many authorities now split the birds from south-eastern Africa as Red-backed or Brown-backed Mannikin (L. nigriceps).
