Description: Birmingham Central Library, photographed c.1890. The Central Library lay behind the Town Hall: it was rebuilt in 1882 after the previous library had been destroyed by fire in 1879, and was demolished in the 1970s to make way for a short length of road. Architect: J. H. Chamberlain.
