Description: Azurite Locality: Apex Mine (Dixie Mine; Utah-Eastern Mine; Dixie-Apex; Pen), Jarvis Peak, Tutsagubet District, Beaver Dam Mts, Washington County, Utah, USA (Locality at mindat.org) Size: 3.7 x 3.3 x 2.6 cm. This rolling hillock of bright azurite is comparable in quality to ANYTHING from Bisbee, I would say. But, it’s from Utah! The old Apex Mine produced into the early 1960s and was known for, rarely, such quality. Charlie Key got these in trade from Al McGuinness in the 1960s.
