Description: Austin State Hospital - The State Lunatic Asylum, located in Austin, Texas, United States, is now the administration building for the Austin State Hospital campus. The building was designed by architect Elijah E. Myers and built in 1857. It was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1966 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 1987.
