Description: Church at 1001 E. 28th Street. A Gothic Revival style church built in 1906 for the Salem Congregational Church. It was acquired in 1917 by the Armenian Gethsemane Congregational Church, and subsequently acquired in 1944 by the East 28th Street Christian Church, a black congregation. The Church is a significant element-part of the 27th Street Historic District.
