The internal arrangements of the wards differ somewhat from thoseat Belvidere, especially in the position of the nurses room and pantry,,which are placed between the acute and convalescent wards, while thelavatory, bath-room, sink, steep-room, and water-closet for nurses andpatients are in the annexe, which is separated from the ward by anentrance hall. The heating of wards is by means of hot water heated by steam froma boiler placed in the workshops block, the steam being led into cylindersplaced in the basement of each pavilion, from which a system of hot-waterpipes is led round the ward. The wards are lit by electricity, movable hand lamps being arrangedalong the walls between the beds. Fresh air is admitted by openings in the walls, 14 in Note About Images Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original work.
